South Beach Casino Mornings by the Water

At South Beach Casino & Resort, the Tropical Pool features a waterfall that cascades, along with a hot tub and a sauna. All guests may use it from 7 am until 10 pm, and the hour from 10 pm to 11 pm is reserved for adults. There is never a lifeguard watching the pool, and children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Separate from the pool, the fitness centre never closes, so a workout fits before 7 am as well as after. Anyone under 16 needs an adult with them. The arcade keeps narrower hours: 11 am to midnight. With check-out at noon, that leaves one hour of it on the last morning.

Mango's Restaurant serves breakfast from 8 to 11 am Monday to Friday, and from 8 to 11:30 am on Saturday. On Sunday it opens at 11:30 am. Weekend breakfast is The Palms Buffet, open to the public from 8 to 11:30 am on Saturday and Sunday. Children can order from a kids' menu there.

South Beach Café, in the hotel lobby, never closes: coffee, muffins, sandwiches and drinks. Check-out is at 12 noon, so plan the last meal before you leave the room.

South Beach Casino & Resort sends guests toward three beaches. Measured in a straight line from the resort, Patricia Beach Provincial Park lies 7.4 km off, Grand Beach Provincial Park 23.1 km, and Victoria Beach sits 38 km out. The actual roads cover more ground than those lines, so build that into your plan for the drive.

For golf, the resort suggests Pinawa, Granite Hills and Grand Pines. Check-out is at 12 noon, so a beach or a round of golf can follow it.

South Beach Casino & Resort is located on Brokenhead Ojibway Nation reserve land, along Highway 59 north of Winnipeg and a short distance from the Lake Winnipeg shoreline. Its ownership is shared by seven First Nations: Bloodvein, Pauingassi, Black River, Little Grand Rapids, Brokenhead, Poplar River and Hollow Water. Its doors first opened on May 28, 2005.

The whole resort is styled in Art-deco with a tropical mood. It calls itself a Manitoba Star Attraction.
